What have we been up to, you ask. Well....WE HAVE HAD A BABY!!! I know, I know. I did not blog about it a bit, which I am now regretting. However, due to morning sickness and the 3 other little people running around my house, I did not. So I will fill you in. Charles and I had a beautiful baby boy on November 1, 2010. Charlie has been happy and healthy since day one. He has added much joy to our family. He also completes our family(unless God has a different plan). He has been a delight to his big brother, John Adams, who has waited patiently through 2 sisters to have a brother. The journey to Charlie was a little more challenging than the others but just as worth it. God has, and continues to teach me, a lot about trusting Him.
I had wanted another baby for about 3 years but Charles was just fine with 3. It is so hard when you want something so badly and yet your spouse doesn't share the desire. After a few attempts of trying to persuade him, I let it go. The desire was strong but I didn't really know what to do. I decided to just pray. I prayed my desire would go away or God would give Charles the desire for more children. I did this for about a year and then gingerly approached the subject again. Charles seemed a little more open so I just kept praying. The beginning of December 2009, Charles said he was ready to try to have another baby. I was in shock! I think I smiled all day! God had answered my prayer just the way I had hoped He would. It wasn't in my timing but in His. Which, let me tell you, has been such a blessing. Many things have happened since then. Obviously, we got pregnant. There were a few bumps along the way, but God has been right there with us. We have had other things happening in our life, personally, which I believe God was teaching us to trust Him to prepare us for those things. It seems a constant theme in my life. Nothing takes Him by surprise and nothing that man does will keep His plan from taking place. My God is much bigger than any man.
Charlie is 8 months old now. He is "scooting" everywhere and has 4 teeth. He is such a blessing to us. Thank you Father, for continuing to mold me and make me into who you want me to be.
